Summer Care Tips for your Pet

· Don’t leave pets in parked cars. Even with windows cracked,
temperatures can reach 120 degrees in a matter of minutes.

· Don’t drive with your dog in the back of a pick-up truck. Your
dog can be injured by flying debris or thrown from the truck.

· Beware of fertilizers and insecticides in lawns and gardens.

· Provide plenty of water and shade for your pets while outside

· Don’t take your pets to crowded concerts or fairs. The noises
and crowds can be stressful for pets.

· Pets can get sunburned too so your pet may need sunscreen
on their nose and ear tips.

· Exercise your pet early morning or evening to avoid the hottest
hours of the day.

· Heartworm disease is transmitted by mosquitoes. Check with
your vet to see if your pet should be taking heartworm
prevention medication.
